American Indian Dog
The Native American Dog is thought to be related to the Dingo. It is believed to be the missing link to the first domesticated dogs in the world dating back over 12,000 years. This dog played many roles in the Native American society; guardian, pack-animal, hunter, and babysitter. Scientists argue about whether the Indian Dog is a truly native dog or an animal that came with people who moved into the Western Hemisphere during Ice Age. Most archaeologist think that American wolves and the coyotes (also called God's Dog) were the first ‘dogs’ kept by Indians |
